School Uniform

Our uniform is an important part of our school culture; wearing it with pride helps students feel a strong sense of belonging and reinforces a professional environment where learning and development are the priority.

Our uniform is outlined below. For a full guide of acceptable uniform, please read our Uniform & Appearance Policy.

School Uniform

Blazer

The Poltair School grey logoed blazer is a mandatory item of school uniform and should be worn at all times, unless permission to remove has been given by a member of staff.

Tie

A Poltair red and white tie must be worn at all times, except when permission is given to remove it for health and safety reasons (e.g. during some practical lessons). All ties are clip-on.

Shirt/Blouse

This is a standard item of uniform, available from any clothing shop or supermarket. The shirt/blouse must have a top button that can be fastened to secure the school tie. Shirts/Blouses should be of a suitable length to ensure they remain tucked in at all times.

V Neck Jumper

A grey Poltair V-Neck jumper is optional and can be worn under the blazer but not instead of the blazer.

Trousers/Pleated Skirt/Shorts

Students must wear plain black tailored trousers that are an appropriate size to allow for a regular fit. Trousers must be made of standard material that sit at the waist and meet the shoe line. These must be of a style that is complementary of a blazer. Skirts must be pleated and knee length. School shorts can be worn as an alternative to trousers, but must be plain black, of a formal style and meet the knee.

We will not accept -

  • Any type of jean, chino, legging material, tight/skinny trousers, or tracksuit style trousers.
  • Trousers that do not reach the shoe line.
  • Shorts that are not of a formal style.

Shoes

School shoes should be plain black and made from leather or leather like material that is polishable in a formal style.

  • We will not accept any type of coloured laces, high heels, canvas, coloured trim, suede material, boots, trainers, or trainers with logos (for example Vans and Air Force 1s).
  • We advise parents/carers to check the photos of shoes or check with a member of the Behaviour Team if you are unsure regarding the type of shoes allowed.

Socks

Students must wear plain black socks which present above the ankle (no trainer or ankle socks). Socks must not display any logos, coloured strips or any other markings and are available from most supermarkets/high street stores.

Coats

We advise all students to have an appropriate outdoor coat during cold and/or wet weather. Students will be expected to remove their coat before entering school buildings.

Please read the Uniform & Appearance Policy for information regarding jewellery, hair, make-up and essential equipment.

PE Kit

On days when students have PE, they must bring their PE kit. Students who are injured will still be required to change in to their PE kit and participate in the lesson as far as the injury allows. E.g in a coaching/officiating role.

PE Top

Students must wear the multi-sports shirt for all PE lessons and sports clubs.

This item can only be purchased from Kitworld.

Shorts/Leggings/Tracksuit

Students must wear plain black shorts, that are of an appropriate length or plain black sports leggings/tracksuit bottoms, any logos on these items must be discrete.

Socks

Students may wear:

  • White sports socks (above the ankle length, not ankle socks)
  • The Poltair Football/Rugby red and grey striped socks

Midlayer/Jacket

The Poltair branded black mid-layer and/or ¼ zip jacket is also an optional item that can be purchased, no other jackets can be worn for PE lessons.
