Teacher of History

Poltair School are seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent Teacher of History with skilful subject knowledge to join from 1st September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional teacher with the qualifications and skills to teach History to GCSE standard. We would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers or experienced teachers. We provide an extensive and highly supportive programme for our Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and a diverse range of professional improvement opportunities for more experienced staff. If you have excellent subject knowledge, are passionate about History and enthusiastic about working with fantastic young people, we would love to hear from you.

Food and Nutrition Teacher

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic full-time teacher of Food and Nutrition with the ability to teach throughout KS3 and KS4. This role offers an exciting opportunity for you to play a key role in creating innovative and inspiring learning opportunities for our students. We welcome applications from teachers at all stages of their career and offer a range of progression pathways alongside a well embedded CPD programme from ECT to Senior Leadership. Food and Nutrition is part of the Creative Learning faculty and benefits from fantastic purpose-built, modern facilities that provide a stimulating environment for our students.

Pastoral Manager

We are seeking to appoint a vibrant, energetic Pastoral Manager to join our team. We require a dynamic individual who will support students with pastoral concerns and provide high quality guidance to help our young people to achieve the best outcomes. It will be a requirement to establish constructive relationships with parents/carers and external agencies, to encourage positive family support and involvement, to regularly review attendance, behaviour and attainment to give our students the best chance of success, and to identify students at risk of disaffection.

Exam Invigilators, Readers & Scribes

Our Exam team is highly respected by staff and students and they provide essential support to our examination processes. We are seeking to recruit Exam Invigilators, Readers and Scribes to join our team at Poltair School.  

Hours are flexible, term time only during exam periods, with the exam sessions typically running between 8.00 – 11.30am and 12.30 – 3.15pm.  The abilities to work on your own initiative and as part of a team are essential.  Previous experience of working with children in a supervisory role would be advantageous, but full training and support will be provided.
