Community Use of Poltair's Facilities.

Poltair facilities have been available for community use for many years now. We are very committed to encouraging all forms of out of school activities and already have an extensive range of clubs using us. Our facilities are available for hire during evenings, weekends and the school holidays. Some areas can even be hired during the school day.

The demand for our facilities for community use is quite extensive as can be seen from the various users. Our astro turf pitch and sports hall for example are in constant use throughout the Autumn Term and Spring Term.

If you would like to be put in contact with any of our users or are interested in starting up your own club or activity, please call the Community Office.

‘Soccer Skills & Fun Days’ Courses

Our courses are organised and supervised by qualified FA Coaches with experience of working with children and consist of skill practices and games.

Course A is run for two mornings for children in Primary School Years 1 and 2.
Course B is run for two days for children in Primary School Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

The courses are run during the main school holidays and are very often full, due to their popularity. Our Easter courses, which are taking place on Monday, 10th and Tuesday 11th April are already filling up fast.

Any interested children presently in Years 1 – 6 at Primary School please telephone or email your details to Louise Eastwood and you will be added to the mailing list. The next courses will run during the Summer Holidays, details will be available at a later date.

Mini Soccer

Mini Soccer sessions are run at Poltair on Saturday mornings between 10.00 – 11.30 am during the soccer season.

But what is mini-soccer?

Mini-soccer has been developed by the Football Association as the most appropriate introduction to football for boys and girls under 11 years of age.

Mini-soccer has the following benefits:-

• More touches of the ball.
• More fun.
• More opportunities to improve play.
• Better opportunities of understanding the game.
• Increased concentration – the ball is never far away.
• More movement.

The sessions are open to boys and girls presently in Years 2 - 6 at Primary School.

Sessions run for 1½ hours each Saturday morning during term time and finish at Easter and recommence again in September at a cost of £2.50 per session. Please telephone or email your details to Louise Eastwood and you will be added to the mailing list.
