Ten Tors Sand Dunes Endurance Training at Perranporth

On Saturday 26th January, the Ten Tors teams prepared for a rigorous mandatory clothing and equipment check prior to a day of endurance training and skills based learning.

'We worked hard when we were endurance training in the sand dunes. Misha's team were chasing Elliot's team for Stage 1 and then we swapped over for Stage 2.' Tia-Louise Townsend.

There was great teamwork amongst the teams, making an improvement on their overall performance.

We learnt the rules and safety surrounding the use of the gas stoves and had the opportunity to try our 'boil in the bag' meals. Kayleigh Powell.

The day concluded with the tradition of the chocolate éclair micro-navigation challenges - all rose to the challenge!

If you are in Y9 or Y10 and would still like to join the Ten Tors team 2019, please contact Miss Blackburn as soon as possible [email protected]

Policy Review

Dear Parents and Carers

As you may be aware, the statutory guidance from the Department for Education around Relationships and Sex Education has changed. Here at Poltair School, we have worked hard to think about how to teach this to our students, making sure that our lessons are engaging and designed to suit the needs of all of our students in an age appropriate manner. Students will have a lesson called Personal Development once a fortnight, in which this and other topics will be covered. This was formerly known as Morals and Ethics.

We would like to get feedback from our community in order to finalise our policy on the delivery of this important curriculum area. Our draft policy is available on our website for your consideration, and we welcome any questions, comments or feedback via email to Clare Price ([email protected]). When we are able to open up the site to parents and carers, we will hold a review and consultation meeting at school to consider our policy and delivery further. Please send any communications by 10th July 2020 at the latest.

Contact during exceptional circumstances

It is important that all children, families and professionals are able to contact key staff to share information in respect of safeguarding and concerns.

Following the wider opening of all CELT schools, there is now a member of the safeguarding team on duty in school every day. Please contact the school directly and ask for the DSL if you have any concerns you wish to discuss.

The dedicated CELT e mail address is still in operation and can be used if, for any reason, you are unable to contact the school;

[email protected]

This will be monitored during office hours only, Monday to Friday.

However, you should contact the Police or Social Care if you feel that a child is at risk of immediate serious harm.

A reflection on the ideas, thoughts, feelings, surroundings and effects of the Corona school closures on Poltair pupils.

The Poltair Art Department have started a Poltair Pinterest page.

Students are emailing work they have completed at home to their teachers, the work is then showcased on the page.

Some fantastic work on there already:
