SINDRELLA QUEEN OF THE NIGHT

Dancing GhoulOn the 5th and 6th of November  2007 Poltair school produced a fantastic performance at the Keay Theatre,  SINDRELLA QUEEN OF THE NIGHT.

The concept of this play was to take the fairytale Cinderella and turn it on its head, so instead of a poor victim who was bullied by her ugly stepsisters, made to do all the housework and to wear rags ‘Cinderella'became Sindrella- a blood lusting VAMPIRE who was only after one thing.

Also in the play, the character Prince Charming was transformed into Prince Charmless. His name speaks for his personality and behaviour.

Prince Charmless and SndrellaStef Horn played the role of Sindrella brilliantly, being able to play the poor servant at the beginning and then evolving into the blood- lusting vampire at the end.

Other cast members performed their characters brilliantly too, such as Luke Tilley as the brainless Prince Charmless, Corey Koppolow as the womanizing King, Jackie Godding as the stuck- up queen (although she was ill on the second night and was replaced by Tessa Isted) Emily Sweet and Katie Ford as the dizzy shop-aholic stepsisters, and Bryony Walker as the prudish stepmother. Alice Waterfield also played the ‘Fairly Goth mother' and scared the audience with her portrayal of the character.

Drama teacher Kristin Bond who was the director of the play and our thanks go to the many other staff and parents who helped with scenery, choreography, music, backstage and in ticket sales.
