What if ...?

If you are worried about something, or there is something you need to find out, you must see someone as soon as possible. Below is a list of the most common worries people have, and advice about who to go and see.

What if I am late? See the receptionist.

What if I have forgotten my packed lunch or have no money? See your Tutor

What if I don’t feel very well, or I get hurt? Tell your teacher during lesson times, or tutor during break and lunchtimes.

What if I have a medical appointment? Tell your Tutor during Registration, and give them a note then sign out at Reception. Remember to sign back in when you return.

What if I have lost something? Report the loss to your Tutor and Reception

What if I don’t understand my homework or can’t get it finished on time? See your subject teacher immediately and tell your Tutor

What if I have forgotten my homework or my P.E. Kit? Tell your subject teacher immediately; don’t try to cover a problem up!

What if I am being bullied or I know someone else is? Tell somebody you can trust: your Tutor, a Teacher, your Year Team Manager; or a friend

What if I miss my bus home? Tell the teacher on duty at the gate, or the school receptionist

If you have a bigger worry, or a personal problem always speak to your tutor who will try to help you or put you in contact with someone who can. Try not to worry or panic.

When not in Class :
(or when Teacher/Supervisor not present)

• Walk quietly to the place of assembly.

• Be sure that you assemble in tutor groups as instructed by your teacher or supervisor.

• Be quiet and listen to instructions.

• Do not stop to collect your personal belongings.

• Do not attempt to pass others on the way to your assembly point.

A member of the staff will call the Fire Brigade immediately the alarm is sounded.
